Greetings and Namaste!
Summer is here and in the Ayurveda system (sister of health science to Hatha Yoga), summer is the Pitta season which means the elements of fire and water tend to increase, we become more active, days are longer, warmer and it’s easy to get exhausted and irritated more quickly, work and play are no longer in balance. With this in mind, and only a couple weeks remaining in the season, my focus is to cultivate the essence of Anahata, the heart chakra. My offering is to burst it open and to be joyous: When anahata is balanced we are able to serve, to give and yet not be exhausted.
So, open your heart, be kind, be present, slow down and surrender to joy and the beautiful changes occurring during the summer months.
Life is good!
With Love & Light,
Marie

Inspiration and Yogic Living
Gratitude Meditation
Find a quiet, comfortable spot where you will not be disturbed. Sit in a comfortable position. Close your eyes. Take a few deep breaths, and fill your lungs completely with air. Feel the breath right down to your tailbone. Let your mind quiet down.
Bring your attention to the middle of your chest, your heart space. Imagine a ray of sunshine beaming its way to this space. Fill the entire area with golden warmth. Breathe in and feel this warmth deeply inside your chest, in a circle that encompasses the entire area including your actual physical heart.
After a few more breaths, inhale and draw this golden warmth up to the place right between your eyes. Sit for a few moments and feel the warmth spread across your forehead.
Repeat to yourself: "I am grateful for......” You can change the words to whatever is most meaningful for you.
After you have declared your five gratitude blessings, sit quietly and notice the feelings. Go deeply into those feelings for several moments. Take a few more long breaths, and feel again the golden warmth across your forehead and in your heart space.
If you can, also every day for a week write: “today I am grateful for...”
