Time for Celebration

Hello & Namaste!

It’s official, the holiday season is upon us! Time for celebration! In addition to your usual holiday festivities, take some time to celebrate yourself this season. How does one celebrate oneself? Yoga, of course!  Karma Yoga (the yoga of selfless service).

The holiday season is a perfect time to practice Karma Yoga.  Yes, the holidays are a happy time for many in which time is spent with family and friends, gifts are exchanged, food and drink are abundant. However, there are many, many people who are less fortunate than most.  In the spirit of Seva (Sanskrit word for “selfless service” the main principle of Karma Yoga), I encourage you to take some time out of your hectic schedule over the next few weeks and acknowledge those in need by either donating clothing, money or food to those who are less fortunate.

Yoga is a "celebration of the heart", that looks for the good in all people and all things.  This philosophy of basic goodness simply reminds us of our natural state, the loveliness that is always there no matter how often we forget or how much we try to mask it with identity. And when we are reminded, we get a glimpse of the pure joy within us; this is what is revealed and celebrated.

So let’s celebrate ourselves whether it is a holiday season or any other season, tap into the goodness of our own hearts and celebrate our own light through the practice of Karma Yoga.

Wishing you and those close to you a Happy Healthy Holiday Season.

With love & light and many blessings,

Marie

The studio will be closed from week 50 for the holiday season and will re-open after the new year on Monday, January 10, 2011.  The schedule for the Winter Season 2011 is on the website, take a peek and register for the course or classes that work for you.

 Namasté
